Science blog #11

What ideas did you learn?

This week in science class we talked a lot about DNA and RNA. We learned about what we saw when we did the experiment with DNA a little more. That helped us understand what RNA looks like and how its different from DNA. We also discussed the four different parts of DNA. They are, adanine, thyunine, cytoine, and guaine. Another thing we got to do was understand more of the parts of DNA. For example, we got to look at the base pairs and discuss how they are broken up into two parts. We also talked about the sugar backbones and how every part is used.

How did we learn these ideas?

We learned our ideas about DNA and RNA by doing lots of class discussions during class. This helped us because we all got to talk about what we though and if we had a question, people from our class would help explain and so would the teachers. Another way we learned our ideas were from class work and homework. This helped because we got to do some research and that told us a little more.

Why is it important to know these ideas?

It is important to know about DNA and RNA because all humans have it and its important to know what is happening inside us and how things work. Its also important to know these things because you want to know what the names of things are. The reason we need to know these things are for tests and quiz's and if someone were to bring it up you would want to know what they are saying and what they are talking about. Even if it comes up in the future.
