Science blog #12

What ideas did you learn this week?

This week in science class we learned some new names for DNA pats and where they are located. The names we learned were, base, codon, gene, DNA strand, and chromosome. We learned that three bases is a codon, a codon is in a gene, a gene is in a DNA strand, and a DNA strand twisted up is a chromosome. Another thing we talked about were prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. We practiced by writing examples. We also wrote down organelles and discussed if they were bacteria, plant, or animal cell.

How did we learn these ideas?

We learned most of our ideas from class work. When we learned about DNA and its parts we discussed it all together and the teachers explained. Also, in class we made a cart listing organelles. We wrote if they were prokaryotic or eukaryotic and if they were plant, animal, or bacteria cells. This helped us study for the test and understand it more.

Why is it important to know these ideas?

THis week was really important to start understanding things because we have a test coming up on Monday. If we didn't understand everything that we learned, or payed attention you would be very confused and have a lot of trouble when it comes to tests and quiz's.
